I’ve recently installed Windows XP Professional in a Boot Camp (version 3) partition to run some Windows-only finance software, and think I have all the drivers installed and updated, however, I can’t get it to recognize the Magic Mouse – it keeps asking me to enter the Passkey! (How on a mouse?).Īlso, when I close the lid on the MacBook Pro, the computer and Windows goes to sleep and I’m not able to wake it using the Bluetooth keyboard.Īm I expecting too much to think that it will work like an Apple when in Windows mode? Or am I missing something basic about the setup or one of the myriad control settings in Windows? The closed lid shuts off the laptop display, and I simply slide it under the Cinema Display and work away on the big screen with a mouse and keyboard.

It sometimes takes a tap on the keyboard to wake the computer and light up the big screen, but it works like a charm. When running OS-X 10.6.2 I just connect the display, start the MBP and close the lid. I have a brand new 15-inch MacBook Pro (matte screen) connected to a 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display, and a Bluetooth Aluminum keyboard and Magic Mouse. Can one run Windows XP in Boot Camp on a laptop connected to an external monitor with the laptop lid closed?
